ABOUT US
We moved to Kerikeri from the Bombay Hills, south of
Auckland, where we spent 10 years developing a 14-acre (five
hectares) property. There we tended our large grape rootstock
vineyard while Miranda worked with the wine Industry and
Keith was involved in landscaping.
Prior to this Keith lived overseas, alternating stints as a chef with various
positions involving horticulture and farming. This culminated with a period
in Tokyo studying Zen Shiatsu, before returning home to New Zealand in 1992.
Also resident at Heron Hill is Madeleine, our
twelve-year-old daughter, a budding hospitality expert who
has a wicked sense of humour and Olive the tabby cat.
Capitalising on Keiths experience as a trained chef and Mirandas
extensive interest in wine, Heron Hill opened for business in July 2004.
Our love of art is reflected in the fine collection of original paintings
which adorn the walls of the house and we like to spend time in the lush
gardens here.
We enjoy boating, cycling, walking and entertaining and look forward to welcoming
you to Heron Hill.
Although we offer a Bed and
Breakfast Service we are happy to provide a wide range of Culinary experiences
as to suit all tastes.
Keith prides himself at being able to produce great meals for all occasions.
Also, should you wish to entertain friends or business acquaintances in the
area we are easily able to cater for up to 12 people in the dining room.
We bake our own European breads, cakes and
pastries, put down seasonal preserves throughout the year and also like to
showcase the quality produce from the area and do so when it is available.
To complement all of the above, Miranda has put away a good selection of
local and national wines, beers and waters and is very happy to assist in
your selection. Out catering is also available upon request.
