Kerikeri (which in Maori means dig, dig because of the fertile soil and growing conditions) is located three and a half hours drive or a thirty five minute flight north from Auckland.
Heron Hill is situated 12 minutes from Bay of Islands Airport, 5 minutes drive from the village at Kerikeri and 25 minutes drive away from Paihia. Russell is just a little further on and accessible by passenger or car ferry from either Paihia or Opua respectively.
The area is notable as an aquatic playground, great beaches and scenery, its historical significance and warm climate.
